Hand Tools

Ever since prehistoric man used shaped bone and wood, tools have assisted him in his survival and pleasure. Hand tools have helped him gather food by hunting as well as enabling him to construct shelters to guard his family against the dangers of the wild. Evolution has changed these tools from bone to metal and with the discovery of power from steam through to electricity tools have developed at a great pace.

Hand Tools have become a symbol of man's ingenuity and creativity. In the contemporary world, hand operated working tools of the Victorian Shipwright have been replaced by power tools of the craftsmen on building sites. Powered hand tools have become so common that modern tradesmen could not operate without them. Computer and laser technology have brought a new degree of accuracy and ease of use that make them almost indispensable today.
